Handmade with LOVE!

If you didn't already know, I am a skincare fan. And I don't mean just for the face, I care for my entire skin. From my scalp to the arch of my foot, I like to make sure everything is massaged and moisturized!

So naturally, when I found out a childhood friend of mine was opening up an Etsy shop, selling luxury soaps that she's created herself, I had to try some out for myself! So here is my haul from,

Armine's Creations

 photo DSC_2167_zpsb60e7aa1.jpg

And here they are in detail...

Oat Soap, $6 for 2
I love oats when used for skincare for it's calming effects, plus this smells really good!
 photo DSC_2171_zps2596cbb3.jpg
Description:
Oat milk and honey fragrance
oat exfoliants
mango butter soap base

Coffee Soap, $5.50 each
I'm also a bit of a coffee fan so when I saw this, I knew I had to try it out. OMG, smells absolutely divine!
 photo DSC_2172_zps8f3af5e1.jpg
Description:
shea butter soap base
coffee grounds for exfoliation
scented with oat, milk and honey

And she threw in some extra goodies =)
(All orders come with free gift!)

I'm not sure what the little blue soap is made of but it's quite good at moisturizing. The lip butter feels sooo good on my lips! It moisturizes them well and doesn't feel heavy or greasy.

That's all for now,
Toodles!

What Does That Sound Like?

From the MAC Hayley Williams Collection,

it's "Sounds Like Noise"

It's been awhile, hasn't it been? No, not me blogging (although it has been awhile for that, too). I'm talking about how long it's been since a lipstick shade has truly captured my heart. AND it's not a nude!!!

MAC describes this color as a matte "Bright True Orange". I'm kind of half and half on that because it's definitely bright in the tube and swatched on the back of my hand, but on my lips it kind of lightens up to a more wearable, lighter shade of orange with a tinge of peach. For reference, I do have daker shaded lips, kind of light mauve pink and I'm an NC 37-40.

Nonetheless, I'm very happy with this purchase! I think I've found my new summer love =)

True... Or False?

Instagram is a beautiful thing isn't it?
Not only can you share your pictures, but you can also share other people's pictures with your friends by simply tagging them in the comments section. Which is exactly what my girl Sarina did to me with True Or False Lashes. She know's and understands my addiction to falsies, and boy was I ever thankful to have been introduced to this company!

After scrolling down their IG gallery, I decided to check out the website. There wasn't much to select from (per their IG, they will be releasing some new styles very soon) but the ones they did have I was definitely interested in. Plus, I'm a sucker for spunky packaging.

Here is my little haul...
 photo DSC_1786_zps61987501.jpg

These are called "Medusa Eyes" $1.99 per pair
 photo DSC_1788_zps52d0601d.jpg

These are called "Monroe" and currently $0.00!!!
AND they throw in 2 more pairs of these with each order!
 photo DSC_1789_zpsd57ee513.jpg

These are "Cat Eyes" $1.90 a pair.

I'm very happy with my purchase and shipping was very quick, too! I ordered Wednesday night, and got them on Friday that same week. I can't wait for the new releases now =)

It Was Good While It Lasted...

So with Google Reader becoming obsolete in a few months, I've been looking to find a new site where people can continue to follow me. I noticed other bloggers were heading over to Bloglovin so I've decided to join the pack as well =)

I really do appreciate all of you for all of your support and taking the time out of your lives to come by and visit my little corner of the web. I hope you all decide to continue to support me and...

I Whip My Hair

Ever since Pantene revamped their look some time ago, I've always wanted to try their "improved" stuff. However, when I discovered that my beloved "Curl Lock" spray wasn't part of the line, I kind of just gave up on the brand. Anyway, fast forward to a couple or so weeks ago, Target had a sale on the line and I happened to be armed with a coupon. So eh, why not try them again?

I ended up buying this,

Pantene Pro-V
Silky Moisture Whip
Moisturizer + Styler

 photo DSC_1780_zps93e360a0.jpg

What is it:
According to the back of the can, it's basically a whipped moisturizer for the hair. It also protects from the heat styling damage and gives hair a silky shine.

 Where to get it:
Target, Walmart, CVS, etc...

How much:
$4-$7

 photo DSC_1782_zpsa5d41049.jpg

 photo DSC_1783_zpsa2bb6581.jpg

 photo DSC_1784_zps696cdc2a.jpg

What I like about it:
If you can tell from the picture of the product in my hand, the product is very thick and not foamy like that of a mousse. It's kind of like... whipped lotion? I don't know how else to describe it. But I like that it's not sticky and doesn't leave residue on my hands. Makes my hair smell really nice, too.

What could be improved:
I'm not sold on the "silky smooth" thing. My hair felt soft and kinda silky, but didn't look any different that it normally does without the product.

Overall:
I do like this product, so much so that I'm considering purchasing is again. I wouldn't buy it at full price only because it didn't deliver the silky look that I had hoped for. I do like it enough to consider repurchasing because my hair does feel soft, smell really good and it kind of helps tone down my frizzies.

Anyway, I haven't seen too many other reviews on this product so I really hope this helps for those of you who are on the fence about it. And as always, feel free to contact me if you have questions regarding this.

Til then,
TOODLES!

A Touch Of Color

I understand there are plenty of people out there that think "Oh, I could never wear that color" or "I don't know if I can pull off color" but the truth is...

Anyone can wear color!

That's right. Anyone! You might not be comfortable with wearing a lot of color, and that's okay. So I'm here to show you that even the smallest bit of color is do-able, no matter what your comfort level. Take for example one of this year's trendiest colors, "seafoam" or "mint green". Very similar, pretty much in the same family of light, bright green with blue/aqua tints.

This is the look I came up with that is, for the most part, very neutral but with just enough pop of color that gives off enough 'flirt' whenever you blink =)

 photo PicsArt_1362007013329_zps97f4bff8.jpg

Products used:
MAC eyeshadow in "Cork"
NYX eyeshadow in "Dark Brown"
Pure Luxe pigments in "Surfer Girl"
Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeline in "Black"
Maybelline Colossal Volum'Express Cat Eyes in "Glam Black"

That's all for now,
TOODLES!

Express Yo'Self!

Okay, so this is a bit of a late post, but I love this purse so much I thought it deserved a whole entry all to itself =)

I bought this purse from Express as a little present for myself, for my birthday. Originally it cost $59.90 but I had a gift card worth $40 so I only paid $19.90 for this beauty!

 photo DSC_1752_zps91f30ea3.jpg

What I love about this purse is that the woven/braided design is on both sides of the purse. IDK about y'all, but everytime I see a continuous type of design on anything (whether it's on a purse, a shirt, etc) and it doesn't have the same design on the otherside (meaning the backside is plain), I just look at it as cheap. It might not be cheap in price, but it looks cheap. Take for example Louis Vuitton monograms, the design doesn't stop only on one side, right?

 photo DSC_1753_zpsbc565ed7.jpg

On the website, the hardware is described as gold-toned but in person, it looks like aged brass which is actually a good look, in my opinion, for a purse like this.

 photo DSC_1754_zps59ad10da.jpg

This woven look is what sold me. It's just enough to make it an everyday purse, but because of its rich cognac color, it looks rather chic.

 photo DSC_1755_zps59020160.jpg

Inside, it's just fabric with the store's label.

 photo DSC_1758_zpsc238f7b6.jpg

The purse appears to be very durable, which I believe the entire Express brand strives to offer. I know Express isn't exactly high-end, but for the price, I believe they offer quality items. For reference, I know a lot of folks are familiar with the sizes of Louis Vuitton's variety of Speedy so... this purse is slightly bigger than the 30 but definitely not as big as the 35. And as with the Speedy, there is a lot of space inside which could prove to be helpful for those of us that carry a lot or a nuisance for those who like to be organized.

Anyway, if you like this purse or would like to check out other purses that Express has to offer, don't forget to use Ebates so you can get cashback for your purchase!

Red, Red, Wine...

Hello beautiful people!
Just wanted to show you my EOTD or EOTN inspired by Valentine's Day.

I didn't want to do a pink or purple look that I noticed a lot of people were doing for the holiday. Not that there is anything wrong with pink or purple, I just wasn't in the mood for either color. So here is what I came up with.

I really wanted to incorporate red in there, but I didn't want to use greys or black so I went with gold instead. I used only 6 items to achieve this look and none of the items are high-end brands so yay for gals on a budget!

 photo 2013-02-13143020_zps135435ef.jpg

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold
Emani Crushed Mineral Color Dust in Wine and Dine
Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow in Golden Halo
Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow (the red shade, idk the name but it's from a palette that came out Holiday 2011, it was the only palette that came with a red color)
CoverGirl Liquidline Blast Eyeliner in Black
CoverGirl Lashblast Fusion Mascara in Very Black

Here are some closer, more detailed shots.

Looking at the pics now, I think I could have benefited by using some falsies but I've been too lazy for those lately. Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out overall =)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Til next time,

In A Flash

Recently, Maybelline came out with a new line of makeup removers. It's called "Clean Express" and includes towelettes, classic and waterproof eye makeup remover, and makeup removing lotion (all sold separately of course). I only purchased the lotion and the towelettes because I just figured I would get more use out of those. The towelettes were really nothing special in my opinion, but they smell nice. The lotion, however, I felt the need to do a review because I don't believe there is really anything else in the drugstore market quite like it. That plus, I was looking for a review on this product before I bought it, but there was nothing so I figured maybe if I could help someone out, then why not?

On to the review...
Maybelline
The Flash Clean
Clean Express
Makeup Removing Lotion

 photo 2013-02-121946_zpscde9edf9.jpg

What is it:
Lotion that removes makeup. Similar to a cleansing cream but according to the directions, does not need to be rinsed off.

 photo 2013-02-121957_zps07319b45.jpg

Where to get it:
I bought mine at Target, but I've seen it at drugstores like CVS and Rite Aid.

How much:
The range falls around $5-$8 USD

What I like about it:
Truly delivers on it's claim! Took the makeup right off my face without a lot of work, even the waterproof eyeliner/mascara =)

What could be improved:
Left me feeling a little greasy, even after wiping it off a couple of times.

 photo 2013-02-121948_zpsacabd07a.jpg

 photo 2013-02-12194854_zpse1f89294.jpg
Here is how the product looks like...

 photo 2013-02-12194926_zps2d3ceb44.jpg
And this is what it looks when lightly rubbed in.

Overall:
I love this product, but I only use it as eye makeup remover now and I'll tell you why. The first time I used it, I used it as directed (no rinsing) even though my gut told me to wash it off. I felt my face was super oily after using it but I went against my better judgment and went to sleep like that anyway. Never mind the oil left on my pillow, the product made me breakout. Fortunately for me, it wasn't a terrible breakout, just a couple blemishes, but still ya know? I didn't want to let the rest of the product to go to waste so that's why I just use it around my eye area now. For that purpose, it is amazing! I don't have to rub it in or anything, just lightly massage it on and gently wipe off, and everything comes off in virtually one swipe!

I love that it comes in this type of packaging. You just squeeze the contents out of it versus the traditional cleansing cream where you have to dip your fingers in the tub to get the product out (kind of unsanitary, right?).

I also love this product because it helps leave my eye area feel moisturized. With the skin around your eyes being so thin, I think it's especially important to keep the skin soft and supple for as long as you can, any way you can. I don't care about being older in age, but I give a damn when it comes to aging skin.

So that's it, I hope you found this review helpful, and if you have any other questions just let me know.

Til next time,
TOODLES!

note: I purchased this item with my money and was not compensated for this post.

My, What BIG Eyes You Have!

I did it, I finally did it.
I joined the world of circle lenses.

Last month, Kiwiberry1-Collection  was having 50% off sale their entire stock. Naturally, as a bargainista, I thought it was the perfect time to finally try out circle lenses. Now if you're new to the term circle lens, click here because I've pre-google searched it for you already. They're not necessarily expensive, they run anywhere from $20-$40 (more or less) a pair, and most of them are good for 12 months.

But y'all know me, $20 or so dollars for something I can't check out in person? Little high for my blood, but with the sale it was like trying 2 for the price of one!

So that's exactly what I did, I bought 2 pairs =)

Let's get right to the pics, shall we?

 photo 2013-01-241359_zps7f0369f6.jpg
These are my eyes, naturally.

 photo 2013-01-241400_zpse42648a9.jpg
Close up... as you can tell, my eyes are already kinda big. But I really dig that googley eye effect, it's kinda cute.

First up,
GnG/Dueba Big DM23 in Grey

 photo 2013-01-24140815_zps0c8cb672.jpg
Originally, I saw a picture of my friend Lena with these on. I asked her about them because they looked really nice on her and not super obvious so I thought maybe I'd have similar results. I'm not sure if she has the exact same one because when she told me, she had mentioned "DM" not "DM23" and on her, you can really tell they're grey.

And here they are on me
 photo 2013-01-241412_zpsba9ff75b.jpg
LOL, quite obvious on me! But I have yet to wear this with a full face of makeup so maybe that will help.

 photo 2013-01-24141223_zpsd59c5839.jpg
Honestly though, I really like. I do have to get used to it some more but overall I'm sold =)

Next up is
EOS G307 Gothic in Green
  photo 2013-01-241353_zps4615e29e.jpg

 photo 2013-01-241406_zps50e7f7b0.jpg

 photo 2013-01-241354_zps983908b8.jpg
At first glance, they look kinda like the Freshlook Color Blends that I owned way back in the day. But after trying them on, I know for a fact these are way different.

 photo 2013-01-241401_zps4272c5bf.jpg
I'm not sure makeup would make these look any more natural, so I would definitely only wear these if I wanted the attention.

 photo 2013-01-241403_zps9b23fd1d.jpg
Overall I like this pair, I was just a little bummed that they only come in plano (not prescription).

That's it for my mini lens haul, I can't wait for more sales so I can try out some more!
Til next time!
TOODLES!

Note: I bought these lenses with my money, I was not paid or gifted to write this post.
